We/Me | Interative Performance
January 2009, Milan
installation aims to think about the relationship between individuality and society in their reciprocal reflection, in our times.
Any subjectivity is the result of a dynamic of inclusion / exclusion of the others, of a renegotiation
of the subjectivity in relation to the social device in which we move in.
In other words, single people and society mirror one another.
The created “actor” moves through a sort of conceptual “system” formed by four areas:
1. the interactive-carpet area – mirror of the collective interaction in society
2. the touch-screen area – mirror of the individual interaction in front of a range of
subjects / choices at his/her disposal
3. the performer area – he is the mirror / interpreter both of the society and of the
single; he is the expressive incarnation of social interactions and individual
choices, but he is also the creator of a voluntary, as much as unpredictable
manipulation of information (“glitch”) coming from the “actor”.
4. the area of the screens – mirrors of the interaction between society, individuality,
performer and technical device.
